When Football Is All You Have

It's Monday.
It's NFL day.
I got bets.
I got beers.
And I got BEARS!
A week 2 matchup against the Texans and I'm pumped.
There's a sense of excitement in the air amongst Bears fans this year, we've got one of the best young quarterbacks in the league (Kaleb Williams) with a world of experience to gain ahead of him.
We've got one of the best young Wide Receivers in the game in Rome Odunze.
Pair that with Keenan Allen (WR) on the other side and De'Andre Swift at Running Back and we fully cookin'.
I haven't even mentioned DJ Moore. *Face-melting-emoji*
Aaand, our defense still full of fire!... it's a good time to be a Chicago Bears fan.
After our Week 1 comeback against the Titans, I was full of hope coming into this game.
The Texans are a different beast, but I had faith.
I knew that our defense would keep us in the game, but it was always going to be up to the offence to put up some points.

I'm watching this game unfold and I'm immediately thinking to myself, 'is this the QB for the future for us?'
And I mean, that's rough.
I shouldn't be thinking that, we just drafted this dude.
He's playing his 2nd ever NFL game after coming out of college.
His O-Line is garbage. (That being the Bears offence line which couldn't stop a nosebleed if their lives depended on it...)
The running game isn't cooking, and the jury is still out on the coaching staff and in particular Matt Eberflus, the head coach.
But fuck man, MAKE SOME THROWS.
Step up in the pocket and deliver a dime to a receiver that's wide open and sprinting towards the endzone!...
I've supported the bears for 18 years and I have never, not once, basked in the glory of victory. I'm talking true victory. Division winners, conference winners, world champions, the whole lot is foreign to me. I've seen us win the Division twice in 18 years and that's it.
It's rough.
But I still hang tough, and I still stick by the boys because I know I'm going to bask in the glory once it finally arrives.
Write that down...

The Texans are all over us from the start, we're constantly playing catch up.
Then Kaleb Williams (QB) throws 2 picks in the 3rd quarter and now we're basically out of the game.
Our defense kept making plays and ultimately kept the Texans to 19 points, but our offence just couldn't get anything going and the 13 points, to our side, just wasn't enough to get the 'W'.

Disappointing second game of the year but hey, there's plenty of football left and I still live in hope.
Go Bears.
